I've officially started the 100 Themes Challenge! The way each Theme works is I draw the themes in the order they're shown, and write a story using the word or phrase that gives each theme its title at least once.

#4: Dark

I can feel it creeping over me. His dark influence overtakes my body before anybody can help me. I can't find peace anywhere. I'm trapped within his mind, where all I see for miles around is darkness.

Memories of all the Nightmares I've had over the years flood my mind, all of them caused by his dark manipulation of my subconscious and stimulus filter.

Sometimes, I feel a dark shadow creeping up behind me. I'm frightened, unable to tell anyone that I'm no longer in control of myself. Unable to stop him from causing havoc and terrorizing the island.

I try to sing the song that would normally keep him at bay, but it's not long before I feel his presence compelling me to stop. Occasionally, dark visions of the island's destruction plague my eyes. They don't last very long, but their impact does. Somehow I know they'll come true, which frightens me further.

Eventually, I see an image that's glowing with some sort of aura exuding hope. It looks like Manky. I reach out toward him, but I'm immobilized by the shadowy presence. Manky is then surrounded by several dozen lights of all different colors, all of them representing at least one of my friends.

The dark presence weakens as the hope and belief surrounding all my friends grows stronger and stronger. I'm able to walk towards his outstretched hand, freeing me from the dark grasp of hate.
